AG 3 English Cottage

This garden is currently using the Aerogarden nutrient tablets, however once the initial 2 weeks are up I will be switching to Liquid Earth nutrients. We are waiting for our other 6 units (2 AG Elite+, 4 AG6) to arrive so we can begin planting the lettuce and tomatoes. We are going to be doing a few experiments right away. We will be growing a 6 pod mixed romaine seed kit with the standard Aerogarden nutrient tablets and will be growing the same kit next to it with the Liquid Earth hydroponic nutrients. We have also been debating on the growing medium, since so far I am not too happy with the current peat seed pods that Aerogarden is offering. We will be growing our own mixed romaine seeds using the master gardener kit, but will be using 2 peat pods, 2 grow sponges (previously offered growing medium from aerogarden) and 2 rockwool pods. This experiment will be done using the Liquid Earth nutrients.

Day 7

The stock sprout that was doing bad appears to have perked up and after looking with magnification it appears to be putting out its first true leaves. There is also another seed in the stock pod that has begun to sprout. The petunia in the front pod had appeared to be at a bit of standstill for a bit, but now looks like it begun to do a little more.

As you can see from the first picture this seedling is having quite a struggle with getting its root down into the peat pod. After i took this picture i fiddled with the seedling and realized that the root was not even in the peat at all. I decided to move the seedling (since i think it was a goner if i left it where it was) to the space between the peat pod and the plastic basket, this way it can at least get some water and maybe the root can try and do something.

Sprout has about doubled in height, except the root doesn't appeared to have anchored itself well so the plant is leaning quite a bit....i am hoping this is not a bad sign

Another pod that you can't see appears to have something green in it, but not sure if it a sprout. I guess time will tell
